Welcome to the portal for the 2014 Free State enterPRIZE Job Creation Challenge!




We invite you to explore this site to learn more about how you can compete to win one of 75 prizes in 25 categories totaling R 7.5 million plus a range of business development services from sponsors and partners!

The categories target a range of economic sub-sectors as well as enterprises that are in different phases of start-up, growth and consolidation. The categories are aligned with the priorities of the Free State Provincial Growth and Development Strategy.

Please download the Information Booklet and read the description of the categories to ensure that you choose the categories where you can be most competitive. You can chose up to 3 categories to compete in. Just remember that the key criterion is job creation!

To take part in the competition you must first register on the website (top right hand corner) after which you can fill out and submit your on-line application. Before you start filling out your on-line application, please download the Application Questions and begin thinking about your business case.

We only accept applications that are submitted through the website. If you need assistance to fill out the on-line application, please contact one of the Seda offices mentioned in the Information Booklet.

The 2014 Free State enterPRIZE Job Creation Challenge was launched on 18 March 2014 and the website opened for applications on 25 March. The Deadline for entries are on 2 May 2014.

The competition is a partnership between the Department for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (Detea), the Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) with funding by the Flemish International Cooperation Agency (FICA).

In addition, several sponsors comprising of financial institutions, multi-national companies and local firms and organizations are generously contributing to the prizes. You can read more about the sponsors in the Information Booklet.
